  • Soleal line of tibia

A line on the posterior surface of the tibia extending diagonally from below the tibial condyle to the medial border of the tibia. The soleus muscle and fascia are attached to that line.

  • Sight line

The line from the center of the pupil to a viewed object.

  • Scapular line

In anatomical descriptions, the imaginary line extending downward from the lower angle of the scapula.

  • Reversal line

A cement line seen in microscopic sections of bone that shows scallops and irregularites representing earlier bone resorption. Resorption to that point occurred before the process reversed and new bone was formed by apposition.

  • Resting line

A smooth cement line seen in microscopic sections that separates old bone from newly formed bone.

  • Popliteal line of tibia

A line on the posterior surface of the tibia, extending obliquely downward from the fibular facet on the lateral condyle to the medial border of the bone.

  • Popliteal line of femur

An oblique line on the posterior surface of the femur.

  • Pectineal line

The line on the posterior surface of the femur extending downward from the lesser trochanter. It is the portion of the iliopectineal line formed by the os pubis.

  • Parasternal line

The line midway between the nipple and the border of the sternum.

  • Line of Owen

Occasional prominent growth lines or bands in the dentin of a tooth. They provide a record of the growth of the coronal or radicular dentin.
