Logagnosia
A type of aphasia in which words are seen but not identified with respect to their meaning. A brain disorder characterized by aphasia or other word-related deficiencies of the central nervous system.

Lofgren’s syndrome
A type of sarcoidosis characterized by extensive involvement of hilar lymph nodes, erythema nodosum, and joint pains, especially around the ankles. The syndrome has a better prognosis than other forms of sarcoidosis.

Locus ceruleus

Locked-in state
A paralytic condition, superficially resembling coma, in which a person has no voluntary control over somatic muscles but nonetheless remains awake and alert. The locked-in state is usually the result of a lesion of the brainstem, especially the pons. Because in some patients eye blinking is reserved, communication with locked-in patients is occasionally possible.
