Prediabetes
Early evidence either of autoimmune disease or impaired carbohydrate metabolism in patients who later develop overt diabetes mellitus. The condition includes impaired fasting glucose and impaired glucose tolerance. In the U.S. in 2007 more than 50 million people were affected by prediabetes.
