Orthostatic hypotension

A decrease in blood pressure leading to feelings of lightheadedness or dizziness, which happens upon transitioning from a seated or lying position to an upright stance. This condition is also referred to as postural hypotension.


Referred to as postural hypotension, this is a condition where blood pressure drops upon standing up. Orthostatic hypotension can arise from antihypertensive medication usage or nerve dysfunction that impacts blood vessel diameter regulation, often linked to diabetes mellitus.
