Mobius syndrome

A rare hereditary disorder characterized by the paralysis of both sides of the face stems from the absence or underdevelopment of the sixth and seventh cranial nerves. This condition is congenital, manifesting from birth. Children affected by it exhibit a mask-like facial expression and an inability to fully move their eyes from side to side. Infants with this condition struggle to feed properly. In certain instances, the syndrome is linked to limb abnormalities or learning challenges. While there is no targeted treatment, surgery might offer partial restoration of facial expression.
