Mildew

Certain kinds of fungi that form fine webs on the surfaces of organic materials, or on the leaves of live plants. Mildews thrive in warm, humid conditions and mainly affect plants that are not adapted to such conditions. Downy mildews are virulent plant diseases, the most notorious being downy mildew of grape.


Lay term for a discoloration or superficial coating on various materials caused by the growth of fungi. It occurs in damp conditions.


A type of fungus that affects plants or grows on inanimate objects, but does not cause human infections in the salon.


Frequently observed is the discernible development of a type of fungus upon a vegetative exterior or another foundation. Nonetheless, when referencing food items, the vocabulary of “mould” is typically utilized.
