Uterine bleeding at irregular intervals, particularly between the expected menstrual periods.

Uterine bleeding; usually abnormal amount, occurring at completely irregular intervals, the period of flow sometimes being prolonged.
Bleeding that occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle.
Uterine bleeding, especially at a time other than the menstrual period.
Bleeding from the uterus between menstrual periods.
Unusual bleeding from the vagina between the menstrual periods.
Bleeding from the uterus other than that of menstruation, usually indicative of uterine disease (e.g., cervical cancer).
Bleeding from the uterus that occurs between menstrual periods. Causes may include polyps or cancer of the endometrium, cervicitis, and cancer of the cervix. Spotty bleeding sometimes occurs during ovulation. Women who take estrogen therapy may experience metrorrhagia from the medication.
Uterine bleeding otherwise than at the proper period. It is usually due to a uterine lesion and should be investigated.
Intermenstrual bleeding. Bleeding between regular menses may be associated with either benign or malignant conditions and warrants investigation.
Bleeding from the uterus unrelated to menstruation.
