Mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)

Contributes to the regeneration of mesenchymal tissues (e.g., bone, cartilage, muscle, ligament, tendon, adipose, and stroma) and is essential in providing support for the growth and differentiation of primitive hemopoietic cells within the bone marrow microenvironment for the repair of bony defects. The most accessible source of mesenchymal stem cells is bone marrow, although they have been isolated from a number of tissues, including the liver, fetal blood, cord blood, and amniotic fluid.
