LH-RH, a hormone naturally found in the body, is produced by the hypothalamus in the brain. This hormone is also synthesized artificially for medicinal purposes. The natural form of LH-RH prompts the pituitary gland to release gonadotrophin hormones, which oversee the generation of oestrogen and androgen hormones. Its synthetic version, often referred to as synthetic gonadorelin, is administered to address issues like delayed or early-onset puberty and to treat infertility in women by making the pituitary less responsive.
LH-RH can lead to symptoms like headaches, nausea, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and inconsistent menstrual cycles.
