Labia majora

The outer and larger pair of lips of the female vulva labia minora.

Two large fleshy folds at the outside edge of the vulva.

Labium majus, two long folds of skin that form the outer and larger lips of the external female genitalia, one on each side of die vaginal opening outside the labia minora; in some women the outer surface of the labia majora is covered with pubic hair.

The two folds of skin and adipose tissue on either side of the labia minora and vaginal opening; they form the lateral borders of the vulva. Their medial surfaces unite anteriorly above the clitoris to form the anterior commissure; posteriorly they are connected by a poorly defined posterior commissure. They are separated by a cleft, the rimapudendi, into which the urethra and vagina open. In young girls, their medial surfaces are in contact with each other, concealing the labia minora and vestibule. In older women, the labia minora may protrude between them.

Labia majora, also known as the outer lips, are prominent folds of tissue that constitute the lateral boundaries of the vulva.

The two hair-covered skin folds located on either side of the vulva.
