Hysterocontrast sonography

Hysterocontrast sonography is a procedure where ultrasound is used to examine the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes. A contrast medium, which is visible on ultrasound, is introduced into the uterine cavity through the vagina and cervix. This technique is often employed in the investigation of infertility. The main benefit of this method over hysterosalpingography is that it avoids the use of X-rays.
