Hydrophobia

A viral neuroinvasive disease that causes acute encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) in warm-blooded animals. Also called rabies.

Repelling water molecules, as do molecules with few or no polar covalent bonds.

A disease spread through the bite of an infected dog or another rabies-carrying mammal. Its name is derived from the afflicted animal’s seeming aversion to water.
