Ghon’s tubercle

A Ghon’s focus, also referred to as an abnormal area in the lung, is formed due to tuberculosis infection in individuals who have not encountered the disease before. Typically, a Ghon’s tubercle resolves without causing any noticeable symptoms. However, in certain instances, it can lead to tuberculosis spreading through the lymphatic system, bloodstream, or lung air sacs. After healing, the tubercle may calcify and could be detected during a routine chest X-ray.
