Gastric inhibitory peptide (GIP)

Ahormone secreted by the mucosa of the duodenum and jejunum in response to absorbed fat and carbohydrate which stimulates the pancreas to secrete insulin. Also known as glucose- dependent insulinotropic polypeptide.
