Flecainide is an antiarrhythmic medication prescribed for treating conditions like tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, and arrhythmias linked to conditions such as Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, which involves abnormal heart rhythm. This drug, available in tablet or injection form, is administered to individuals who do not respond well to or cannot tolerate other treatments. The treatment with flecainide is always initiated in a hospital setting.

Potential side effects of this medication comprise dizziness, visual disturbances, and the possibility of the existing arrhythmia worsening or a new type of arrhythmia developing. In rare instances, nausea, vomiting, urticaria (nettle rash), vertigo, and jaundice may also occur.
