An ad hoc health care “think tank” with William F. Bridgers, MD, as Head. Bridgers is founding Dean of the School of Public Health of the University of Alabama. The Eutaw Group contends that the health care universe is one comprised of “haves” and “havenots,” and that this distinction is more important than the usual distinction into urban and rural. As a result, the Eutaw Group proposes a community care plan as an alternative (or complement) to the accountable health plan (AHP) for the underserved populations, both urban and rural. Bridgers is the author of Health Care Reform: A Dilemma and a Pathway for the Health Care System (1992).
