Eucalyptus oil is derived from the leaves of eucalyptus trees. Due to its pleasant aroma and refreshing flavor, it is utilized as a flavoring agent. Additionally, eucalyptus oil is commonly found in cough and cold remedies, where it can be applied as a rub, inhaled as vapour, or included in tablet formulations.
While eucalyptus oil is believed to alleviate symptoms, there is limited evidence to support its curative properties.
