Epiphyte

A plant that gets moisture and minerals from the air and rain and that usually grows on another plant.


A plant growing on, but not parasitic on, another plant. adj. epiphytic.


An air plant, growing on or with other plants but not in any way parasitic.


A plant growing non-parasitically upon another.


Plant that grows on another plant, without being parasitic. Common epiphytes in rainforests are ferns, orchids, and bromeliads.


A plant growing on (and usually attached to) another plant only for support and not deriving nourishment from the host.
