Enterobacteriaceae

A family of gram-negative, nonspore-forming, facultatively anaerobic bacilli. Some are intestinal pathogens, others are usually normal colonizers of the human intestinal tract. Included in the family are Shigella, Salmonella, Escherichia, Klebsiella, Proteus, Enterobacter, and Yersinia.
