Electromyographic biofeedback

A process using instruments to help patients learn how to control tension in muscles that are normally under automatic control.


A technique employed to alleviate tension in the jaw by monitoring the patient’s endeavor to relax the musculature, while simultaneously observing a gauge. Through gradual practice, the patient acquires the ability to regulate and modulate the extent of muscle relaxation.
