Electrocardiographic lead

A wire is connected to specific areas on the body and then linked to an electrocardiogram to capture the tiny electrical impulses produced by the heart muscle during contraction. These wires are utilized by cardiologists to identify heart irregularities. Some patients might feel uneasy when these wires are connected to them. However, their concerns are unfounded because the only electrical currents traveling through these wires originate from the patient’s own body. Moreover, today’s electrocardiographs are transistorized and frequently powered by compact batteries.
