Electrical ripple

Rectified ripple refers to the variation in magnitude of the rectified current from the peak to the trough of a sine wave. In a single-phase system, there is a 100 percent rectified ripple. In a six-pulse system, the ripple is approximately 13.5 percent, while in a 12-pulse three-phase system, the ripple reduces to approximately 3.5 percent.
