Dextromoramide

An analgesic used to relieve moderate or severe pain. It is given by mouth, injection, or as suppositories and sometimes causes dizziness, reduced blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, and sleepiness. Dextromoramide is similar to ‘morphine and can cause morphine-type dependence.


Dextromoramide is an opioid analgesic medication that belongs to the opium-related drug class. It is employed to alleviate intense pain resulting from injuries, surgical procedures, and chronic illnesses. Although it provides rapid pain relief, its duration of action is limited. It is important to note that regular usage of dextromoramide can lead to the development of drug dependence.
