Dextroamphetamine sulfate

A compound related to amphetamine sulfate (i.e., an isomer of amphetamine); sometimes written D-amphetamine sulfate or dextroamphetamine sulfate. It is used as a central nervous system stimulant in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and occasionally as a treatment for depression in patients with terminal illnesses. Prolonged use can cause psychological dependence. The “street” name is “speed.”
