Descemet’s membrane

One of the deep layers of the cornea [Described 1785. After Jean Descemet (1732-1810), French physician; Professor of Anatomy and Surgery in Paris.]


The elastic membrane that lines the inner surface of the cornea of the eye, next to the aqueous humor.


An elastic layer deep in the corneal layers formed of endothelium.
