Dependence

A form of behavior that suggests inability to make decisions.

A state in which a person’s body has become resistant to a drug and requires the drug to function normally.

A condition in which an individual necessitates a consistent intake of a specific substance to prevent the onset of withdrawal symptoms is referred to as dependency.

Dependency refers to the psychological or physical reliance on individuals or substances. In infancy, an infant is reliant on their parents for various needs, but as they mature, this dependence typically diminishes. However, it’s important to note that some adults may not achieve complete independence and continue to rely on others to varying degrees.

Alcohol and drugs have the potential to create physical or emotional dependence in individuals who use them. When a person develops a dependency, they may experience physical symptoms like sweating or abdominal pains, or they may become distressed when deprived of the drug.
