Thin shells of ceramic material, usually porcelain, that are bonded to the front of teeth. The application of dental veneers is a technique offered by cosmetic dentistry. Veneers may be used to repair chipped teeth or to close spaces between teeth. Porcelain veneers cover the front and upper third of the back of the tooth.
