Demand pacemaker

An implanted pacemaker that is designed to permit its electrical output to be inhibited by the heart’s electrical impulses. This decreases the chances for the pacemaker to induce discomfort or dysrhythmias.

An enduring synthetic cardiac pacemaker, a device that emits electrical signals to uphold a consistent heart rhythm, exclusively releases impulses when the heart rate deviates from normal. This pacemaker can be programmed to operate solely in the event of a decelerated heart rate or, conversely, to supersede an excessively rapid rate.
