Criterion-referenced

A test to determine an examinee’s level of performance in relation to well- defined job-related knowledge and skills.

A type of test in which a student’s performance is measured against a specific standard such as 75 out of 100 questions correct, ability to solve a set problem, or typing 50 words a minute with no more than five errors as opposed to a norm-referenced test in which performance is compared with that of a larger group.
