Compote

Fruits cooked slowly in syrup (may be spiced), during which time they retain their shape. Also, refers to a steamed dish.


A dish of fruit, typically a large vessel capable of containing multiple portions, composed of cut pieces of fruit that can be either freshly picked, cooked, or soaked in a sweetened syrup, and at times presented with a generous serving of cream.


Compote is a dish that consists of fruit stewed with sugar. It can be prepared using a single type of fruit or a combination of various fruits. Compote can be served hot or cold depending on personal preference.
