A highly uncommon condition characterized by the coexistence of spinal cord angiomas, which are noncancerous growths of blood or lymph vessels, along with arteriovenous malformations, which denote abnormal connections between arteries and veins, on the skin above. This disorder is congenital, meaning it is present from birth, but it is exceedingly rare for it to be inherited.
The symptoms of this condition typically manifest during childhood or adolescence and encompass various manifestations such as weakness, paralysis, sensory loss, and impaired control over bowel and bladder functions. Treatment options involve surgical procedures aimed at obstructing the blood flow to the abnormal vessels and alleviating pressure on the spinal cord.
