A type of gram-negative, facultatively anaerobic, rod-shaped bacteria capable of using citrate as its sole carbon source. This species is resistant to potassium cyanide and can be found in soil, water, sewage, and food, as well as in clinical samples from healthy individuals, sometimes acting as an opportunistic pathogen.
