Cioppino

This dish is a savory stew consisting of a combination of fish, shellfish, and tomato sauce infused with a diverse array of seasonings. This delectable San Francisco delicacy, which has its roots in the historic Fisherman’s Wharf, boasts a unique and unforgettable flavor profile.

Cioppino is a type of fish stew that can trace its origins back to California, where it was first popularized among Italian fishermen. According to legend, the fishermen’s wives would gather on the beaches and prepare large pots of simmering sauce in anticipation of their husbands’ return. When the fishermen arrived back on land, a portion of their catch would be added to the pot, and a delicious meal would be ready to serve. As per tradition, this dish should be prepared with at least six types of fish.
