Cholecystotomy

A surgical operation to make a cut in the gall bladder, usually to remove gallstones.

Incision of the gallbladder through the abdominal wall for removal of gallstones.

A surgical procedure known as cholecystotomy involves the meticulous opening of the gallbladder, facilitating the removal of gallstones and the drainage of surplus bile. Notably, in this operation, the gallbladder itself is not removed, allowing for the restoration of normal bile flow while preserving the organ.
