A rare cancer of the cells of the bile ducts.
A cancer of the bile ducts, the tubes that carry bile from the liver and gallbladder to the small intestine. Symptoms of this uncommon cancer include jaundice (yellowing of the skin), pale stools, and dark urine, often accompanied by weight loss and fatigue. No effective treatments have been developed, and the prognosis is usually poor. Complete surgical removal of the affected duct is sometimes attempted if the cancer is small and localized.
