Chlorosis

Iron deficiency anemia characterized by greenish yellow colour.

Yellowing of green tissue due to lack of chlorophyll, often associated with nutrient deficiencies or other stresses.

In botany, reduced development or loss of chlorophyll.

A type of severe anaemia due to iron deficiency, affecting mainly young girls.

Old term for iron-deficiency anemia, especially in women.

A severe form of anemia produced by gross deficiency of iron, so called because of the greenish skin pallor that it produces.

The phenomenon known as chlorosis refers to a situation where an organ or plant experiences a reduction or complete absence of its typical green coloration. The affected area may instead turn shades of yellow-green, yellow, or even white. This condition can be brought about by a variety of factors, such as a decrease in the size or quantity of chloroplasts, the destruction of chlorophyll, or even the inability to synthesize chlorophyll, such as in the case of an iron deficiency.

A condition marked by iron-deficiency anemia and a greenish-yellow hue of the skin. While it was once frequently observed in young women, it has become relatively uncommon nowadays.
