Centigrade

The term is generally used for anything divided into 100 parts, but it’s most commonly associated with the centigrade temperature scale. On this scale, the thermometer is divided into 100 degrees, with zero marking the freezing point of ice and 100 indicating the boiling point of water. The scale is also known as Celsius, named after the Swedish astronomer who introduced it in the early 18th century.
