Ceiling effects

In education, a restricted range of test questions or problems that does not permit students to demonstrate their true capacity for achievement.


The point at which no further increase in response occurs as drug dose is progressively increased; this effect is represented by a plateau on the drug’s dose-response curve.


The optimal potential effect of a medication. Once a therapeutic limit is reached, increases in dose may produce side effects but no further beneficial effects.
