  • Vibrio vulnificus

    A marine vibrio that may cause fulminant gangrene if it contaminates wounds or may cause fatal septicemia if ingested by those with impaired gastric, liver, kidney, or immune function. The usual source in such cases is raw shellfish.

    A marine vibrio, a common cause of gastroenteritis involving raw or poorly cooked seafood.
