  • Symphysiotomy

    A surgical operation to make an incision in the pubic symphysis to make the passage for a fetus wider. A surgical procedure that splits the symphysis pubis to enlarge the pelvic diameter, aiding in challenging childbirths. However, this method is becoming outdated as most surgeons now opt for a cesarean section in such cases.
