  • Proportional error

    Systematic error that varies directly with the concentration or activity of the analyte.

    In nutritional theory, a state in which the body’s intake and excretion of nutrients are perfectly matched.  

  • Pseudostratified epithelium

    Epithelium in which the bases of cells rest on the basement membrane but the distal ends of some do not reach the surface. Their nuclei lie at different levels, giving the appearance of stratification.

    Epithelium consisting of flat, platelike cells in a single layer.

    Endometrial hypertrophy due to estrogen stimulation during the preovulatory phase of the menstrual cycle. This condition is detected through endometrial biopsy.  

  • Puerperal endometritis

    Acute endometritis following childbirth. Risk factors for development of this condition include premature or prolonged rupture of membranes, dystocia with multiple vaginal examinations, poor aseptic technique, trauma related to intrauterine manipulation, and careless perineal care.
