  • Gastrinoma

    A tumour of the islet cells, leading to excessive gastric acid. A tumor associated with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome that secretes gastrin. A neoplasm originating from the pancreatic cells responsible for gastrin production is known as a gastrinoma. This tumor is characterized by the abnormal growth and proliferation of these specific cell types within the pancreas.

    An artery leading from the coeliac trunk to the stomach.

    Hydrochloric acid secreted into the stomach by acidforming cells.

    Poisoning by breathing in carbon monoxide or other toxic gas.

    A pain caused by excessive formation of gas in the stomach or intestine. Pain in the intestines caused by an accumulation of gas therein.
