  • Bethanidine

    A drug that lowers blood pressure. It is given by mouth and acts by blocking the sympathetic nerves that supply the blood vessels. Common side-effects include dizziness, fainting, edema, and breathlessness.

  • Benethamine penicillin

    An antibiotic effective against most Gram-positive bacteria ( streptococci, staphylococci, and pneumococci). A derivative of benzylpenicillin, it can be administered by mouth but is usually given as an intramuscular injection, from which it liberates benzylpenicillin slowly.
