Catatonic schizophrenia

A subcategory of schizophrenia characterized by odd motor behavior, immobility, and catatonia.


A type of schizophrenia where the patient is alternately apathetic or very active and disturbed.


Psychiatric disorder characterized by marked disturbance in thought process, stupor, negativism, and rigidity alternating with periods of great excitement.


A schizophrenic disorder marked by motor immobility or stupor; excessive, purposeless motor activity; extreme negativism or mutism; echolalia or echopraxia; and peculiar voluntary movements such as posturing.
