Candied fruit

Candied fruit is a type of preserved fruit that has been infused with a concentrated sugar syrup. This process gives the fruit a firm texture and a glossy, moist, and sticky surface. Typically done on a commercial scale, the most commonly candied fruit is cherries, although nearly any high-quality fruit can be candied. Candied fruit is frequently used in cakes and desserts, both as an ingredient and as a decorative element.
