The collective term for the numerous microvilli that cover the villi and epithelial cells of the small intestine.
The microvilli on the free surface of the cells lining the small intestine and the proximal convoluted portion of the renal tubules. Microvilli are folds of the cell membrane and greatly increase the surface area for absorption.
