Bronze diabete

The term “bronzed diabetes” was previously used to describe haemochromatosis, a rare genetic disorder characterized by the excessive accumulation of iron in tissues. This condition leads to the deposition of abnormally high levels of iron throughout the body.


Bronze diabetes, also known as haemochromatosis, is an infrequent hereditary condition characterized by the excessive accumulation of iron in tissues. This surplus iron deposition leads to a distinctive bronze discoloration of the skin, and individuals affected by this condition often develop diabetes mellitus.
