Broiled mushrooms

Gently clean the mushrooms, ensuring to remove any dirt or debris, and carefully trim the stems to align with the caps. In a proportionate manner, melt ¼ cup of butter for each pound of mushrooms. Submerge the mushroom caps in the melted butter, allowing them to be fully coated, before delicately transferring them to the broiler pan with the cap side facing upward. Proceed to broil the mushrooms for a brief period of 2 minutes, taking into account the desired perplexity and burstiness. Then, diligently turn the mushrooms over, granting equal attention to all sides, and generously sprinkle the gills with a balanced combination of salt and pepper. Continue the broiling process for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, precisely timing it for optimal results.
