Black-water fever

A severe type of malaria featuring symptoms like extreme weakness, shivering, agitation, vomiting, and dark-colored urine, often leading to collapse. This condition is especially dangerous in regions where malaria is prevalent and can be triggered by administering quinine to someone with malaria. The illness involves the destruction of red blood cells and the release of altered hemoglobin into the urine, resulting in its characteristic dark color, also known as black water. This condition is alternatively referred to as malarial hemoglobinuria.
