Benign tumor

An abnormal, but usually harmless cell mass.

A mass of cells that grow more rapidly than normal cells but more slowly than most cancer cells and do not spread to other areas of the body.

A localized proliferation of cells occurs, which remains confined to its site of origin and does not disseminate to other regions of the body.

A tumor that enlarges through expansion, lacks the invasive characteristics of malignant tumors, and is unlikely to return after being removed.
